How could you prove that the clear material is a solution not a compound?

I have this science question that says: Suppose you stir a little baking soda into water until the water looks clear again. How could you prove to someone that the clear material is a solution, not a compound?

appreciate the help. How could you prove that the clear material is a solution not a compound?
A liquid can be classified as a solution or compound by simple evaporation test . .

If on totally boiling off the solve (in this case water) any residue is left (baking soda) then its a solution . . If nothing is left its a compound !!

Sure of this !
