I'm assuming you use monthly/long period contact lenses as opposed to daily disposable ones?
If so, you just have to follow the basic routine of cleaning them well after every use no matter how long you've worn them for. This is to get rid of organic deposits/dirt etc. If you don't know I suggest you go back to you optician/optometrist or whoever dispensed your contact lenses to teach you how. They should never recommend or sell them to you anyway and expect you to know the cleaning protocols.
Wasting solution is not a good enough reason to risk infecting your eye with bacteria and other stuff.
Just as an analogy, think of using a knife to spread some butter on a piece of bread. You may use the knife for 1 swipe of butter, 2 swipes or even more. No matter how many times you swipe the knife over butter it is still contaminated with butter from the first swipe. Therefore clean it after every use before putting it back into the cuboard %26amp; clean your lenses after every time you finish using them for storage.
As for daily disposables, throw them out if you do not intend to continue using them for the day.
