Given a clear liquid, how can you determine wether it is a solution of a colloidal suspension?

On the whole clear liquids are solutions. However to be sure take two samples. Add a solution of an aluminium salt to one and a phosphate to the other. Colloid particles are ionised and neutralising them with multi-charged ions will cause the colloid particles to precipitate out.Given a clear liquid, how can you determine wether it is a solution of a colloidal suspension?
If it is clear than it is solution.

Colloidal suspensions are murky.
