Is there some sort of chart with information like this? How could you guess what chemical is added to a solution to make the color go from white to clear.?
It depends on the soln, as far as I know, there is no such charts.( Infinite no. of reagents can clear a soln also more than one reagent may clear the soln) U have to gain experience. Usually the reactions are provided in any std chem book, all u have to do is to go through it.How could you guess what chemical is added to a solution to make the color go from white to clear.?
When it is white, it is often due to precipitates which are insoluble in the solution. Hence the solution appears white.
Generally, by adding acids such as NaOH and alkaline, such as ammonia, we can make the precipitate soluble. So the solution will become clear.
