2 clear aqueous solutions BaCl2 and Na2SO4 are mixed and a white solid forms?

what is the solvent

and most importantly how you got it2 clear aqueous solutions BaCl2 and Na2SO4 are mixed and a white solid forms?
The solvent is water as it states that you have AQUEOUS solutions.

The precipitate will be barium sulphate (BaSO4) as all other ion combinations are soluble in water..2 clear aqueous solutions BaCl2 and Na2SO4 are mixed and a white solid forms?
well there are various ways of identifying the solvent in a reaction..

one: which ever has a higher amount is the solvent (mainly applies on same physical state :liquid-liquid...)

two: what is the state of the end product is (if you have a liquid and solid.. the liquid is classified as the solvent because the end product is liquid)

and the precipitate formed is not due to the identification of the solvent but the chemical reaction so in your case, the precipitate is really an independent variable

so between those 2 solutions.. whichever has the higher volume is considered as the solvent
